About This Course

Mastering the Art of Reading Classical and Contemporary Islamic Texts

The Islamic Reading Program is designed to train students in reading and understanding authentic Islamic texts in Arabic. Through carefully selected passages from traditional and modern Islamic sources, students will:
• Develop the ability to read and comprehend medium-length religious texts with ease.
• Strengthen their understanding of key Islamic terms and concepts.
• Engage directly with primary texts in Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Aqeedah, and Seerah.
• Improve their vocabulary and fluency in reading sacred and scholarly Arabic.

This program is ideal for students who wish to transition from basic Arabic reading to direct engagement with Islamic heritage and scholarly works.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, students will:
• Develop advanced comprehension of Islamic Arabic texts.
• Recognize and understand writing styles used in classical and scholarly Islamic literature.
• Expand their religious vocabulary and understanding of Islamic discourse.
• Gain confidence in reading works by major scholars, past and present.
• Be prepared to read and benefit from Islamic books, fatwas, and contemporary writings in Arabic.

• Completion of Level 4 in our Classical Fus-ha program
  OR passing the placement exam for this course
