“After converting to Islam, I was exhausting myself in attending congregational prayers to listen to the Imam’s recitation, although I did not know Arabic. When being asked about that, I answered, ‘Why does the infant calm down and feel comfortable when hearing his mother’s voice?’ I hope to live under the protection of that voice forever.”
In his book “The Struggle for Faith,” Professor Jeffrey Lang wrote, ‘This is the Quran, God’s word, and the sacredness with which the Arabic language has being honored to carry forever. We may wonder why Allah, the Creator, the Maker, made his sacred speech in this language apart from all other languages? To get the answer, we, undoubtedly, have to seek the secrets and mysteries of that wise language that carries this wonderful speech. It contains many roots, vocabulary, words, and creative structures. Thus, whoever wants to learn the Quran has to learn the Arabic language and whoever wants to master the Arabic language has to learn the Quran.
